The indoor flagpole is an exact replica of the lengthy flagpoles that we see on the highways and on specific areas. It has a stand that supports the pole; a pole that holds the flag; and a top ornament that adds beauty to the flagpole. Probably most of us are wondering why top ornaments are placed on the flagpole even if it cannot be clearly seen from afar. For some people it bears a symbolic purpose while others think that these are just additional decorations for the flagpole. Besides it would be too bare when the top end of the flagpole does not have an ornament.
Notice that in most of the outdoor flagpoles the top ornaments are shaped as a ball, eagle and cross. The primary reason for the limited shaped-ornaments available for outdoor flagpoles is that it carries added risk for the flag to be torn or damaged. Depending on the nature and velocity, wind can toss and wrap around the flag to the top ornament, therefore ornaments must never be rough or utterly pointed and multi-faceted. This is also the reason why most people choose a ball top ornament because the flag will just be free to slide on it.
Yet for indoor flagpoles, other shaped-ornaments can be placed over the pole such as a bear, star, leaf or a tree because the weather conditions indoors are far more controlled and stable. And considering the number of ornament designs available, owners can choose a variety of shape that will fit the motif in the living room or office.
