During the middle ages, flags were used mainly during battles to identify individual leaders. It is a form of identifying not only the nationalities of the army but also the military units to which they belong to.
Flags are the means of distinguishing countries, organizations or groups from one another. One would merely glance at the flag to know the identity of the bearers. Each flag bears features which are unique and different from the others. This is to further strengthen each organizations identity and to prevent confusion with other groups who are also bearing flags.
Nowadays, flags are also used for businesses and events. It is a good form of advertising products and services or for simply relaying important events or notices.
It is an effective means of attracting potential customers because they can single out the business from the rest of the pack and immediately identify the kind of products or services being offered. Each flag usually mirrors the group that it represents. It must be eye-catching enough and at the same time, clear enough for the customers to realize what the flag stands for. Logos, emblems and flag colors are carefully chosen to closely reflect the organization.
Customized flags are also effective for relaying to the public any upcoming events, information or notices. These banners and flags are more effective because people have a sharper recall of what they have seen or read than those heard.
The evolution of flags and banners from medieval wars to modern day business strategies is a proof of the importance of identities and of being different from the rest. Nothing can further strengthen this distinction by having a flag or banner that best represents each organization's characteristic.
Flag, the Symbol of a Nation’s Manhood,
The flags that we see
today, represents centuries of a nations colorful history. Due to dwindling reserves nations are pitted against nations, whether for the supply of food, to its energy needs and even to the desire to build vast armies in order to expand. And always in the battlefields, flags played as the single most visible object that represent not just units but nationalities as well.
Once when Knights lorded it over, the flags better known now as crest flags and historical flags they once displayed hundreds or even thousand years ago sent chilling effects or brutal reprisals from the countries that they invade. And as flags became true symbols in a military exercise, it became a precious object to be captured or defended. So, to end ancient battles opposing warriors must be able to outflank each other and capture the flag.
At the onset of World War I, the auspicious presence of the flag became a target for snipers for it signified the presence of the leader of the advancing troops. So, in effect it was rightfully withdrawn to protect the identity of military commanders. But, the flag stayed on particularly displayed in military installations and occasionally during ceremonial celebrations.
Since flags evolved from different time frames, it is important that they are manufactured according to the specifications promulgated by the pioneers. It is on this aspect that NorthStar Flags and Poles can be relied on. As a flag manufacturer, we are aware of the memories that the flags represent, so we inspire our graphic artists to adhere to every detail and the resulting product can be authentic as possible. When it comes to color reproduction, nobody can question our passion for it, all ranges are covered whether they are monochromatic in nature, pastel or glaringly bright.
