Sometimes we see a flag tilted, other times facing the east, and several times facing upward. And then we wonder; why are flags oriented to face different directions? Is the flag position dictated by the movement of the wind? Or has it been fixedly installed in that position? Actually, the bracket attached to the flagpole determines the position of the flag.
What is a flagpole bracket? A flagpole bracket is a gadget used to hold the flag in the position desired by the owner. It can be adjusted to fit the desired flag position. Once it is locked however, one cannot easily move the flag and the pole anymore because it has been made secure by the attachment. That is why owners find it really safe, regardless of what position the flag may appear.
Where is the flagpole bracket attached? Flagpole brackets are attached on solid surfaces such as cemented walls, steel poles and wooden fixtures. It is tightly screwed to the surface, and depending on the size and weight of the flag and pole, normally three or four screws should be enough, but there are other brackets that can be sufficiently supported with two screws only.
Are flagpole brackets durable? Every flagpole bracket is made to last a lifetime because the flagpole is solely dependent on it. Once it breaks, the whole flag and pole assembly suffers, and manufacturers will not want this to happen. That is why manufacturers had made sure that every bracket released in the market is durable and can withstand the changing weather conditions, so the possibility of it to fail is very nil.
