Avoid Confusion, Use Flag Markers
Have you ever visited a construction site? Have you seen the numerous laborers and the extensive fenced ground area that will be excavated for the building’s foundation? If you’re an amateur to the construction world, you will be confused on how the contractors and the workers understand one another. You can hear terms, such as specifications, working drawings, floor elevations, plumb lines, all standard language in the construction industry. This maybe odd for some, but for the construction supervisors and workers, it is the system that fuels construction communication. But do you really think these people started out well? Of course they have undergone years of training and along the way miscommunication played an unsavory ritual for all construction personnel. And since this is their profession, they have to adapt to a very challenging environment.
However, modern construction methods allow the use of flag markers to easily define the extent of the area subject for excavation, or in some cases it serves to inform personnel that the next concrete batch will be dumped at this marker, or maybe that each one is enjoined to avoid a particular area because of falling debris. Whatever the case, a flag marker is used for the various construction activity, and visitors to the site must be doubly curious and examine what each marker meant. And through this, workers will be able to understand and pinpoint the area accurately what the supervisor wants him to do and avoid as the case maybe. To further distinguish one area from the other, different colors of flag markers are used. There are flag markers that are permanent, like markers for floor elevations that must be protected and visible to personnel until the completion of the project. So, a really special, durable and weatherproof flag marker must be used. These markers are usually of made of plastic, some are inlaid with wire mesh to be able to resist normal wear and tear and obviously as protection against wind pressure.
